San Sebastian is a melting pot of surf, sand and food. And people from every corner of the world, making it a banging place to visit. We stumbled here after failing to find anywhere in Biarritz what a strike of luck.
Especially if you happen to stumble across Spanish festival time, which is what we did, naturally.
We walked straight into street parties with some odd looking giants in Spanish dress (see pic below for lack of creativity in description).
Anyway, the surf was pretty good so after nursing some hangovers we hit the beach on the first day and this was the routing every day. Its packed but fun and plenty of chance to chill and catch waves all day. The sun wasn’t the warmest though.
We hooked up with some locals one night after stumbling into them after they thought we were stealing their table at a steak bar. They took us under their wing and gave us an amazing tour of the city. And every other night we tried to get under the skin of the city and eat some of the awesome food.
Basically we got stuck in to music (even Spanish rap), plenty of steak, pinxto, and the water!
Props to Nick R for his ability on the body board and his charm all the way from South West Ang-le-terre.
